On August 22, 2020, The Indie Cinema hosted a double-bill fundraiser for Black Lives Matter Sudbury, featuring a screening of The Last Black Man in San Francisco (2019) followed by the Northern Ontario premiere of White Riot.

Winner of Best Documentary Feature at the London Film Festival, White Riot follows the rise of a broad anti-racism movement in 1980s Britain, where punk musicians and activists united against far-right, anti-immigrant ideologies.
